Privacy, simply.

En passant Adventures is provided by Great Knights Chess. No account, name or email is needed to play. We do not run advertising or add advertising trackers.

Progress on your device

Completed trails and motion preferences stay in your browser. Clearing browser storage removes them. They are not sent to a player-profile database.

Activity counts

To improve the adventures, we count welcome-page loads, Enter adventure taps, level selections, lesson starts and endings, and launches from a Home Screen. These counts are added together by date and lesson. They do not tell us how many individual children are playing.

Our activity database stores only a UTC date, a fixed activity type, a level or lesson code, and a total count. It does not store names, cookies, device identifiers, IP addresses, browser details, chess moves or individual activity histories. We do not use fingerprinting or track visitors across websites. The optional read-aloud uses your browser’s speech feature.

Activity reports cover up to 90 days. Older aggregate rows are deleted when the service next receives an activity or report request. Counts are visible only to the project owner after sign-in. Requests from browsers with Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control enabled are not counted by our measurement script.

Hosting

Like any hosted website, the hosting infrastructure receives connection information such as an IP address to deliver pages and protect the service. Those operational processes are separate from our aggregate activity database. No third-party analytics script is added to the game.
